Meet our Educators.

Mirian Yanez
DirectorMirian is the Director for Mission Viejo Montessori School. She has 12 years of experience in Montessori education. She holds her teacher training certificate from KHT Montessori Online Teaching Program and is currently pursuing her degree in Early Child Development. In 2007, Mirian interned at Lomerena Elementary in the Bilingual Preschool Program while pursuing her Early Child Education units at Irvine Valley College. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as lead teacher and Assistant Director throughout different Montessori schools in Orange County. Her passion to help younger students started when she stepped into an interim position at her younger sister's classroom. Mirian is a true believer in the Montessori philosophy and her satisfaction comes from those “I did it!” moments from the children. As a previous teacher, Mirian loves to educate and instill a passion for Montessori philosophy in the children, staff and parents of Mission Viejo Montessori. When not in the office, Mirian enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and learning about different cultures. According to Mirian, learning and growing happens everyday!

Katyayon Atarodifard
Preschool Lead TeacherKaty has been teaching at Mission Viejo Montessori for 4 years and has been a teacher for 25 years. Katy holds her bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Tehran in Iran and her Masters in Fine Arts from University of Tehran. In the United States, Katy has Early Childhood units from Irvine Valley College and an International Teaching Diploma for Early Childhood through North American Montessori Center, an online program . After moving to the United States from Canada in 2001, Katy started teaching in preschools in Orange County. With a passion for helping students, Katy found that the Montessori classroom was the place she wanted to continue nurturing children, not only find a passion for art but a desire to learn at their own pace. When not in the classroom, Katy enjoys spending days exploring new places with her husband and daughter. Katy also enjoys making flower arrangements for small events for friends.

Maryam Solthanihosseini
Infant Lead TeacherMaryam Solthanihosseini is the lead teacher for the Infant classroom at Mission Viejo Montessori. Maryam has worked with infants and toddlers for 7 years in the Montessori classroom. In 2013, Ms.Maryam graduated from Tehran University with a bachelor's degree in Food Industries and also earned her Early Child Development units from Saddleback College. She is a proud mother of two girls, 7 and 14 years old. Her passion in life is to assist children in their development and also help families better understand milestones in their child’s life. When not working, Maryam enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her husband. Her nurturing personality has helped her daughters become successful in school and in life, but has also helped her students feel safe and secure in her care.

Students are admitted on a first-come, first served basis, subject to availability at the selected school. When you tour the school you will have the opportunity to observe children in the classroom. Seeing the classes in session is important and will help you understand how our classrooms work. We will also explain Montessori philosophy and answer any questions you might have.
